what we believe

The Dwelling Place is a non-denominational church. We believe in the full message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and are committed to living it out in our daily lives.

Below is a list of our tenets of faith:

The Bible

We believe the Bible is divinely inspired by God Himself and is the standard of truth and morality. As the highest form of truth in existence, the Bible is the basis and standard for all our beliefs and practices (2 Timothy 3:16).

The Trinity

We believe there is one eternally existent God who manifests Himself in three distinct and equal persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

The Virgin Birth

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin. Without the virgin birth, Jesus would have been like any other man; tainted with sin and incapable of saving mankind (Luke 1:27-35).

We believe the core of Christianity is founded upon Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

  • Jesus is the Perfect Sacrifice for the sins of mankind (2 Corinthians 5:21).
  • Jesus is the Risen Savior and Lord (1 Corinthians 15:17).
  • Jesus is the Healer (1 Peter 2:24).
  • Jesus is the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit (Mark 1:8).
  • Jesus is the Soon-Coming King (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
  • The Ministry of the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within all who surrender their lives to Jesus and He helps them live as followers of Christ. God's Spirit empowers us, guides us, and reveals God's plan to us. He equips believers with supernatural gifts that encourage and strengthen people, including the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues (Acts 2:1-4).

The Ministry of the Body of Christ

We believe God has placed within every Christian unique gifts and talents that are to be used to bless others in the Body of Christ (1 Peter 4:10).

    The Second Coming

We believe the world as we know it will come to an end. Jesus will reappear to rescue His Church as the age of grace ends and the time of tribulation begins. Jesus will conquer Satan, the god of this evil world, then He will make a new heaven and earth with no sickness or pain, death or tragedy, suffering or tears, and He will reign among His people for eternity (Revelation 21:1-5).
